Marek Hovorka (born October 8, 1984 in Dubnica nad Váhom , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak ice hockey player who has been under contract with JKH GKS Jastrzębie from the Polska Hokej League since June 2020 .

Career

Marek Hovorka began his career as an ice hockey player at MHC Martin , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Slovakian extra league in the 2003/04 season . Then the center spent four years with its league rivals MHk 32 Liptovský Mikuláš , where he finished the 2007/08 season at HC Slovan Ústečtí Lvi in the Czech extra league, from which he and his team relegated at the end of the season. The 2008/09 season he started with his ex-club MHC Martin in the Slovakian extra league and ended it at HC Slovan Ústečtí Lvi , which is now playing in the Czech 1st division . From 2009 to 2011 he continued to play for Ústečtí Lvi in ​​the first division, while he was also on the ice for the Czech Extraliga participants BK Mladá Boleslav and HC Kladno .

For the 2011/12 season Hovorka moved permanently to HC Kladno. In his first full season in the Czech Extraliga, he scored 33 scorer points in 55 games, including 15 goals. In October 2012, Hovorka was signed by HC Sparta Prague , who loaned him to HC Energie Karlovy Vary in May 2013 . A year later he moved to the Piráti Chomutov , with whom he won his second championship in the 1st division and achieved promotion to the Czech extra league. After this success, he stayed with the Pirates before he was transferred to HC Vítkovice Steel in December 2015 .

From 2016 Hovorka played again in his Slovak homeland, first for MsHK Žilina and from May 2017 for HC Košice . From September to December 2018 he was under contract with Admiral Vladivostok in the Continental Hockey League . He then moved to HC Pardubice and Rytíři Kladno, with which he was active in the Czech extra league until summer 2020. In summer 2020 he moved to the Polish club JKH GKS Jastrzębie .

International

For Slovakia , Hovorka took part in the 2012 World Cup, where he and his team won the silver medal.

Further missions followed in the 2017/18 season, when he took part in both the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea and the World Cup in Denmark .
