Margret Steenfatt

Margret Steenfatt (born January 7, 1935 in Hamburg ) is a German writer. Since 1970 she has been writing novels and short stories for young people, but also publishes scripts , plays and radio plays .

Life and work

After training as a legal assistant, her marriage and the birth of her four children, she has been working as a freelance writer in Hamburg since 1976.

She writes books for children and young people in which they address social problems such as B. right-wing extremism (“hatred in the heart”) or drugs (“always mega - always fun”). She has also published biographies on Romy Schneider , Paula Modersohn-Becker , Charlie Chaplin and Milena Jesenská . Her work “I am a king too”, published in 1988, deals with the childhood of Ludwig van Beethoven .

Her book “Nele” has also been translated into Slovak .
