The Roman Catholic Curate Church of the Birth of the Virgin Mary is the church of Hambach , a district of the Lower Franconian community Dittelbrunn in the district of Schweinfurt . It is one of the architectural monuments of Dittelbrunn and is registered under the number D-6-78-123-8 in the Bavarian monument list . Hambach forms with Dittelbrunn, Holzhausen and Pfändhausen the parish community Marienbachtal.

history

Before setting up the Kuratie Hambach was probably a branch of Maibach . The choir tower of the church was Prince Bishop Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn on Roman foundations dating back to the 1600 building. The nave was built with two window axes in 1734 and two window axes were added in 1928. Between 1988 and 1990 two side wings were added.

Description and equipment

The nave faces the eastern choir in the basement of the church tower . The church tower is built in the real style. The walls of the nave are perforated as a transition to the north and south side wings. The interior of the church is baroque from the time the nave was built. The central figure of the high altar , which, like the side altars, has two columns, is a gilded Mother of God with child. The pulpit shows the figures of the four evangelists .
