Marian Cozma (born September 8, 1982 in Bucharest , Romania , † February 8, 2009 in Veszprém , Hungary ) was a Romanian handball player .

Cozma, who last played for the Hungarian club MKB Veszprém (back number 8) and ran for the Romanian national team, was 2.11 m tall and was mostly used as a circle runner.

Cozma's parents were Romanian national players. In 1996 Cozma started playing handball in his hometown at Dinamo Bucharest . In 2000 he made his debut in the first team of the capital club. With Dinamo he was Romanian champion and cup winner before he threw nine goals in a game against the Hungarian series champion MKB Veszprém in 2006 and was then signed by the Hungarians. In 2007 he won the Hungarian Cup with the men from Lake Balaton . In 2008 he won the European Cup Winners' Cup and the Hungarian Championship with Veszprém . Cozma has played 60 international matches for the Romanian national team and took part with Romania in the 2009 World Handball Championship in Croatia.

In January 2008, it was reported that Cozma might become a Hungarian citizen.

On February 8, 2009, Cozma was the victim of a violent confrontation in a nightclub in Veszprém. He was stabbed in the heart and succumbed to injuries in the hospital. His teammates Žarko Šešum and Ivan Pešić were seriously injured while trying to help him.

On the first anniversary of his death, a statue of Marian Cozma was unveiled in Veszprém. On June 23, 2011, the verdicts against the perpetrators were pronounced. The two main accused, Sándor R. and Győző N., received life imprisonment. One accomplice was sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment and four other accomplices were sentenced to 8 to 24 months in prison for accessory to murder.
