Marie-Aude Murail (born  May 6, 1954 in Le Havre ) is a French writer . In her home country she is considered one of the most successful authors of books for young people and children. Her book " Simpel " was awarded the German Youth Literature Prize of the Youth Jury in 2008 .

Life

Her mother was a journalist , her father a poet . Both her brother Lorris and her younger sister Elvire are writers. Tristan , her older brother, is a well-known composer.

Murail studied literature and philosophy at the Sorbonne . She did her doctorate in literature and new philology as a doctor of lettres . After living in Paris and then in Bordeaux for six years , she now lives in Orléans . She is a member of the French Legion of Honor ( Legion d'honneur ).

For the TV adaptation Baby-Sitter Blues directed by Williams Crépin, which was originally broadcast on France 3 on December 27, 1997, she herself provided the script.
