Marie Krüttli (* 1991 in Saint-Imier ) is a Swiss jazz musician (piano, composition).

Live and act

Krüttli, whose parents are classical musicians, initially received classical music lessons at the Bernese Jura Music School. In 2005 she took piano lessons with Joanna Bochenska and the music school in Biel until 2008. She appeared as a soloist in concerts with the Biel Symphony Orchestra. At the same time she developed an interest in jazz; Between 2009 and 2012 she studied jazz piano at the Haute École de Musique Lausanne with Emil Spányi , Vinz Vonlanthen , Jean-Pierre Schaller , Jeff Baud and François Lindemann . Since autumn 2012 she has continued her studies at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences with Christoph Stiefel and Hans Feigenwinter .

In 2010, Krüttli founded her own trio with fellow students, with whom she performed in Switzerland and Europe. She also participated in the “Unheard of” project with Gerry Hemingway and Tim Berne . During a stay in New York, she also worked in her own quintet.

Prizes and awards

Krüttli has received the award for young pianists at the Langnau Jazz nights . With her trio she received the ZKB Jazz Prize in 2016 ; The ability to "play complex compositions with astonishing ease and always listen to fellow musicians with a big ear" was emphasized.
