Marie Louise Fischer
Marie Louise Fischer [pseudonyms: AG Miller, Dr. Christoph Vollmer, Kirsten Lindstroem, Katja Holm] (born October 28, 1922 in Düsseldorf , † April 2, 2005 in Prien am Chiemsee ) was a German writer .
Early years
Marie Louise Fischer was the youngest of three children of the businessman Friedrich Georg Fischer and his wife Marie, b. Notemann. After graduating from high school, she studied German literature , theater studies , psychology and art history and worked as a dramaturge and editor at Prag-Film in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . Since she could not leave Prague in time, she was interned in 1945 and had to do forced labor in Czechoslovakia for over a year and a half . She actually wanted to be a composer.
Career
In 1953, Fischer's first crime novel Tattered Sails was published , which became a bestseller. The “Lady-Krimi” was last published in 2000 by the “Neuen Kaiser Verlag”, Klagenfurt. The author's usual plot was already evident in Tattered Sails : Her novels are set in the milieu of the upper class; They smoke a lot and drink whiskey or cognac there, and thanks to the sensitive protagonist, all conflicts are resolved in the end. Her first publication was followed by numerous successful novels , some of which initially appeared as sequels in various newspapers and magazines (e.g. Quick , Revue , Bunte , Das Goldene Blatt ).
Together with Hans Gustl Kernmayr , whom she married in April 1956, Fischer also wrote non-fiction books. In the youth magazine Bravo she commented on love problems from 1964 to 1969 (under the pseudonyms Dr. Christoph Vollmer and Kirstin Lindstroem). Her advice corresponded to the standards of value and also to the homophobic prejudices of the time. For example, “Dr. Vollmer “told the boys that homosexuality can be cured by injecting male hormones and that same-sex love is a case for the psychiatrist. Lesbian girls were suggested to simply overcome their deep unconscious fear of men.
For the youth magazine mentioned, Marie Louise Fischer (also under the pseudonym Katja Holm and often in collaboration with her husband Hans Gustl Kernmayr) also wrote serial novels such as “Wildes Blut”, “Hotel secretary Julia”, “A heart for me alone”, “Girls without Abitur ”,“ A girl like Angelika ”,“ The restless girls ”or“ Don't kiss your murderer ”.
Novels
Fischer published over 100 novels - mainly romance novels, but also detective novels, historical novels and doctor novels - which have been translated into up to 23 languages. In Germany alone, more than 70 million of her books have been sold. Some novels served as models for television films (e.g. The Fate of Lilian H. and Alarm on Station 2 ). She also published around 75 books for children and young people (at Schneider-Verlag, Munich), mainly books for girls. Within the genre of girls' books, Marie Louise Fischer wrote both single and serial volumes, the latter being very popular:
- The steering function of the serial production lies in the fact that the "typical female bad habits", such as arrogance, criticism, arrogance and dissatisfaction, which are spread with relish, are combated with the aim of a good, adaptable and benign type of girl: Peu à peu develops in the The course of the narrative turns the naughty and impetuous young girl into a decent young teenager .
The way the writer wishes young girls (and boys too) to behave is what makes her publication Young and Lovable. A happy etiquette for young people (1970) can be read. Binette Schroeder was responsible for the illustration of the cover image . In this publication, the author gives advice on questions of cosmetics and personal hygiene, on behavior in the theater, in the cinema or on the campsite, on table manners, clothing, etc. She advises:
- A boy and a girl should never walk together when they are hooked, no matter how close they are; not even if it is brother and sister. It looks silly. If two boys are hooked together, it looks even stranger. Walking hooked is only common for fiancées, married couples, for two women or two girls, for mother and daughter .
Marie Louise Fischer was never bothered by the criticism that she wrote trivial literature. She countered:
- I'm a entertainment writer and I don't have big statements to make. I don't want to change people's minds either .
death
At the age of 80, the writer decided to give up writing. She died on April 2, 2005 at the age of 82 in Prien am Chiemsee.
