Marie Schölzel (born August 1, 1997 in Berlin ) is a German volleyball player . The middle blocker made her debut in the national team in 2015. Also since 2015 she has been playing for SSC Palmberg Schwerin , with which she became German champion, except for a short loan .

Career

Schölzel began her career at the age of eight with SG Rotation Prenzlauer Berg . There she became German champion in the U16 age group in 2011 and German champion in the U18 and U20 age groups in 2014. With VC Olympia Berlin , she won the championship title in the 2nd German Volleyball Bundesliga (North) in the 2013/14 season . In 2014 she became the German U18 and U20 champion. In 2015, the middle blocker made her debut in the German national team at the Masters tournament in Montreux . She also took part in the European Games in Baku and the Volleyball World Grand Prix .

In the same year she was committed by the first division club Schweriner SC . In the 2015/16 season, she came with the club in the cup quarter-finals and playoff semi-finals . She also played in the CEV Cup . In the 2016/17 season she reached the cup final with Schwerin and became German champion . The following season she made it to the cup semifinals and Schwerin managed to defend the title in the Bundesliga . While preparing for the 2018 World Cup , she injured her foot and had to take a break. In January 2019 she was able to play again after a quick recovery and was therefore loaned to USC Münster for the rest of the season . In the summer she returned to Schwerin. In the DVV-Pokal 2019/20 she reached the semifinals with the club. When the Bundesliga season was canceled shortly before the playoffs, Schwerin was in first place in the table. Schölzel also played for Schwerin in the 2020/21 season.
