Marina Andreea Baboi (born June 4, 1999 ) is a Romanian sprinter .

Athletic career

For the first time at an international championship, Marina Andreea Baboi competed at the 2015 World Youth Championships in Cali , where she was eliminated in the first round of the 100-meter run with 12.16 seconds. Then she reached the European Youth Olympic Festival in Tbilisi over 100 meters to the semi-finals, in which she was eliminated with 12.37 s and with the Romanian 4 x 100 meter relay she could not win in 48.13 s Qualify final. The following year she reached the semi-finals at the European Youth Championships in Tbilisi over 100 and 200 meters, in which she was eliminated with 11.96 s and 24.63 s respectively. Also at the U20 European Championships taking place in Grosseto the following year , she was eliminated in the semifinals over 100 and 200 meters with 11.97 s and 24.16 s and failed with the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3:46, 69 min in advance. At the U20 World Championships in Tampere in 2018 , she only took part over 200 meters and was eliminated there with 11.69 s in the semifinals.

In 2019 she took part in the 60-meter run at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow , but failed there with 7.44 s in the first round. She then took part in the European Games in Minsk over 100 meters , where she came in 13th in 11.70 s. Then she reached the semi-finals at the U23 European Championships in Gävle over 100 meters, in which she was eliminated with 11.84 s, while she finished eighth in the 200-meter run in 24.10 s. In addition, she retired with the 4 x 100 meter relay with 45.96 s in the preliminary round.

In 2018 and 2019, Baboi became Romanian champion in the 100 and 200 meter run and in 2017 in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 meter relay. In the hall she won over 60 meters in 2018 and 2019.
