The Navy of the Republic of China ( English : Republic of China Navy , abbreviated ROCN ) is the naval force of the armed forces of the Republic of China (Taiwan) . It has a strength of around 45,000 soldiers (including naval aviators ), who are also subordinate to the marine infantry with 15,000 members.

Organization of the naval forces

The Navy is divided into Fleet Command and Naval Aviation Command. You are under:

  • Fleet command (mostly divided into squadrons ( naval squadrons )):
    • 124th Attack Squadron
    • 142nd Support Squadron
    • 146th Attack Squadron
    • 151 Amphibious Squadron
    • 168. Guard squad
    • 192. Mine Combat Squadron

    • Speedboat group
    • "Hai Feng" guided missile group
  • Naval Aviation Command (divided into groups and squadrons ):
    • 1st Naval Aviation Group ( 133rd Squadron and 134th Squadron ) (S-2T)
    • 2nd Naval Aviation Group ( 501st Squadron , 701st Squadron, and 702nd Squadron ) (MD-500, S-70)
    • Logistics group (3 maintenance scales)

bases

There are naval ports in Hualien , Kaohsiung , Tsoying , Makung , Keelung and Su'ao . The naval aviators operate air bases in Hualien ( headquarters ) and Tsoying. The Navy operates its own shipyard in Kaohsiung .

Marine infantry

The Marines of the Republic of China are under the Naval Command. It is divided into two brigades : an amphibious regiment and a logistics regiment. To carry out its tasks, it has, independently of the Navy, amphibious troop transports of the type LVTP-51A1 .
