Mario Meini (born November 17, 1946 in Legoli di Peccioli ) is Bishop of Fiesole .

Life

Mario Meini was ordained a priest on June 27, 1971 . In addition to activities as parish priest, he worked from 1978 to 1984 as a theology professor at the Pontifical Regional Seminary in Siena .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Pitigliano - Sovana - Orbetello on July 13, 1996 . The Bishop of Volterra , Vasco Giuseppe Bertelli , donated him episcopal ordination on September 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Ovidio Lari , bishop emeritus of Aosta , and Antonio Bagnoli , former bishop of Fiesole. As a motto he chose Pax et Lux .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on February 13, 2010 Bishop of Fiesole . In November 2014 he was elected Vice-President of the Italian Bishops' Conference.
