Marisa Ewers (born February 24, 1989 in Hamburg ) is a German soccer player .
Career

Marisa Ewers started playing soccer at Blau-Weiß 96 Schenefeld when she was eight and was the only girl among boys to stay with the club for five years.
In 2002 she was also noticed by the talent scouts at Hamburger SV , but she felt this change was too early and switched to Altona 93 instead . Before she switched to a school year abroad in the United States in 2005, she was invited to a trial training session by HSV, which she joined after her return to the 2006/07 season. At the beginning she trained in the squad of the Bundesliga team, but played in the second division team . After several appearances in the second division team, she played her first Bundesliga game on October 8, 2006 in the 1: 4 defeat in the away game against SG Essen-Schönebeck , in which she was substituted on in the 83rd minute. In the following season she moved up to the first team and belonged to the Bundesliga squad from 2007 to 2012. Ewers scored her first Bundesliga goal on September 21, 2008 against TSV Crailsheim in a 7-1 away win with a goal of 6-1 in the 88th minute.
After HSV withdrew their team from the national league to the regional league in the summer of 2012 , Ewers moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen for the 2012/13 season . There she became a regular player and played 84 of 88 possible league games in the following four seasons. In 2015 she and the team won the last DFB indoor cup. On April 26, 2016 it was announced that she would leave Leverkusen after the 2015/16 season and move to Birmingham City in the English FA WSL . With the club she reached the FA Cup final in 2017 .
National team
Ewers played a total of ten games for the DFB's junior selection . In 2008 she was part of the U-19 national team that took part in the European Championship and reached the semi-finals. Most recently she was a member of the U-23 national team and played seven international matches in this age group from 2009 to 2012 .
