Marise Ann Millicent Chamberlain (born December 5, 1935 in Christchurch ), married Marise Ann Millicent Stephen , is a former New Zealand middle-distance runner and sprinter .

Chamberlain was an outstanding athlete of her time. She was New Zealand's only Olympic medalist for 40 years and the fastest New Zealand woman over 800 meters. In her sporting career she set many world bests over 440 and 880 yards and 1 mile.

At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff in 1958 , she came in fourth place with the New Zealand 4-by-110-yard relay and was eliminated over 100 yards in the lead. In 1962 in Perth she won silver over 880 yards behind Australian Dixie Willis (gold) and in front of Englishwoman Joy Jordan (bronze).

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, she won bronze over 800 m behind the British Ann Packer (gold) and the French Maryvonne Dupureur (silver). In 1966, she stumbled over 880 yards just before the finish line at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston , missing out on a medal placement and finishing sixth.
