Market fountain

Market fountains are public running fountains that were erected on the market square of a place for drinking water supply or as jewelry. So they differ u. a. of private deep wells .

With the advent of widely ramified distribution networks, public fountains lost their function as water supply systems and have since served as ornamental fountains , for refreshment on hot days and for children's games.
