Markus Golser (born July 9, 1973 in Salzburg ) is a professional Austrian poker player and entrepreneur . Together with the German poker pro Johannes Strassmann , he founded the online poker school and community CardCoaches . Together with the German poker player Sandra Naujoks , Markus Golser started the charity project “All In 4 Kids”, in which all poker players donate two percent of their tournament winnings to children in need.
Career
The trained office clerk Golser started playing poker as a teenager. He was later considered one of the best pot-limit Omaha players in Europe. In 2000 he finished third in this variant of poker at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas . In Europe, Golser preferred to devote himself to the cash game .
Golser is a versatile player when it comes to high-stakes tournaments, although Pot Limit Omaha is his preferred variant. Nevertheless, the successes of Golser can be seen in several poker variants. At the Austrian Masters in the Concord Card Casino , he went off the table once as first and twice as second in No Limit Hold'em and Limit Hold'em . He was also successful at the Poker Wörthersee Trophy in Velden am Wörther See . He can also be found regularly at the WSOP. He finished 2009 in Limit Hold'em sixth place and won a prize of more than 50,000 US dollars . Golser got really active in the European tournament scene with the start of the European Poker Tour . In 2007 he finished fifth at the Main Event in Prague and won around 150,000 euros . His last live cash placement to date was in November 2011. In total, Golser has earned over a million dollars with poker in live tournaments.
Right from the start, Golser was a regular on the German TV format German High Roller , where he played for big pots with Herrmann Pascha and other German poker greats. Golser is a man of the live game, but since 2006 he has also been playing online poker regularly under the nickname jumper17 . From 2007 Golser was FullTilt -Pro and again at events in Pot Limit Omaha found.
CardCoaches
Together with Johannes Strassmann , Golser founded the personal online poker school CardCoaches.com , which went online in a beta version on February 2, 2012. On CardCoaches.com , besides Strassmann and Golser, other well-known German-speaking poker players such as B. Dominik Nitsche together with the aim to train beginners free of charge and to train them to become successful poker players. Even for advanced players, the poker platform offers various strategy articles, hand analyzes and coaching videos that can be used to improve their own poker game.
