Markus Kreuz (born April 29, 1977 in Ingelheim am Rhein ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

societies

Markus Kreuz began his professional career in 1995 at Mainz 05. After becoming a top performer at Hannover 96 in the 2nd Bundesliga , he moved to 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga in 2000 . However, he did not make the breakthrough to become a regular in Cologne .

In 2003 he went to Bundesliga promoted Eintracht Frankfurt , where he was a regular player in the 2003/04 season. At the end of the season, Eintracht was relegated to the second division. When at the beginning of the 2004/05 season Friedhelm Funkel , who had already had problems with the cross in Cologne, took over Eintracht, he moved to the second division promoted Rot-Weiß Erfurt for 150,000 euros , where he contributed 25,000 euros to the transfer fee. After a year in Erfurt, he moved to Spain to CF Real Murcia . For the 2006/07 season he came back to Germany for the second division Kickers Offenbach . In 2007 he went to the regional league team FSV Frankfurt , with whom he was promoted to the second division in 2008. In 2009, Kreuz moved to the Austrian Central Regional League for Wolfsberger AC / SK St. Andrä , with whom he was promoted to the First League in summer 2010 . After the successful championship season 2012/13 Kreuz left Wolfsberg and moved back to Germany to TSV Schott Mainz in the Association League Southwest . At the end of the 2012/13 season he finished second with his team, which also included former professionals Martin Willmann and Nils Döring , and missed promotion. He scored a total of twelve goals in that season. He was also under contract there in 2013/14. Up to and including matchday 18, he scored four more goals. Parallel to his activity as a player in Mainz, Kreuz is retraining to become a sports and fitness clerk. On December 21, 2014 he returned to his youth club VfL Frei-Weinheim, where he acts as a player and co-trainer. At the end of the 2017/18 season, Kreuz ended his active career.
