The Maria-Theresia-Gymnasium Munich (MTG) is a science, technology and language high school in the Munich district of Au . The school was named after the then princess and later the last Bavarian Queen Marie Therese .
1899 county junior high school , founded in 1940, it was county secondary school and 1,965 public high school. In the 2004/05 school year, around 750 students studied at Maria-Theresia-Gymnasium. By 2010/11 this number rose to around 980, in the 2018/19 school year it was 862.
A specialty of the school are the gifted support classes that have existed since 1998 . In these, the students up to the tenth grade are taught in both branches (scientific-technological and modern language). In a partnership with the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , highly gifted students receive so-called " enrichment " lessons, in which they can carry out their own experiments in the university's biology and physics faculty under the supervision of well-known professors .
In addition, the grammar school also serves as a seminar school for trainee teachers .
In the course of the introduction of the G8 , an extension building was built in which there is a cafeteria with kitchen, a toilet for the disabled and various new specialist rooms.
