The Städtische Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium (KKG) is a modern-language and scientific-technological high school in the Bavarian capital of Munich .

location

The KKG has been located at Nibelungenstrasse 51a in the Neuhausen-Nymphenburg district of Munich , near Romanplatz and Steubenplatz , since the 1960s .

history

The KKG was opened as a municipal high school in the 1960s. It is named after the artist Käthe Kollwitz . The original school consisted of the three buildings A, B and C and a double gym. The N-Bau and the P-Bau followed later, and in the 1990s the triple gymnasium was built on Kriemhildenstrasse. The school library with more than 20,000 volumes with a play and reading area, a college level room and numerous sitting areas exist as places to stay. The students are supplied with food in a newly built cafeteria .

Until around 1980, the Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium was an all girls' school.

50 years after it was founded, it introduced the natural science branch in 2017.
