The Dante-Gymnasium is a language lycée in Munich district Sendling . It is named after the Italian poet and philosopher Dante Alighieri . Immediately next to it is the Klenze grammar school .

School degrees

After completing the tenth year of school, one attains secondary school leaving certificate. In addition to the general higher education entrance qualification ( Abitur ), it is also possible to take the French Baccalauréat (Abitur and Baccalauréat: " AbiBac " - Double Délivrance) at the same time.

Languages ​​taught

The languages ​​are taught: English, Latin, French, Italian and Chinese. As a modern language-oriented school with a French branch, English, French or Latin can be chosen as the first foreign language. Chinese can be taken in all language branches from grade 10 as a "late-beginning foreign language", in which case the first or second foreign language of this language branch is not applicable.

Since the founding of the school in 1970 physically disabled students are taken up in the class associations integrated . A maximum of three disabled students are accepted per class. This is supported by special educational offers, nannies and structural measures such as elevators and relaxation rooms.

history

On July 11, 1984, on the day of the National Youth Games, the gym of the Dante grammar school burned out. Insulating material had caught fire in the roof. The wooden floor of the gymnasium at that time offered little resistance to the flames, so that the swimming pool below the gymnasium was also affected. The great heat that day contributed to the rapid spread of the fire.

The makeshift covers of the fire site could not withstand the hailstorm that followed Munich on July 12th . The damage was increased so much that the swimming pool and gym building had to be rebuilt down to the core.

Organizations of students and parents

The students are organized in the student co-administration , the tutors , ADINA (At Dante Is Nobody Alone), the school medical service , the dispute arbitrator and We are Dante . ADINA is an initiative of students who stand by their classmates when they find themselves in school or private difficulties.

The parents organize themselves in the parents' council and in the Ristodante + association . The association is non-profit and takes care of lunch and lunch break care at the Dante and Klenze grammar schools.

There are student exchanges with France ( Dijon , Lyon , Périgueux and Vannes ) and Italy ( Mestre and Turin ). Also with the USA ( Philadelphia ) and China ( Beijing ).
