The Nymphenburg schools are a private , state-approved school center of two all-day schools ( grammar school and secondary school ) in the Munich district of Gern in the Neuhausen-Nymphenburg district . The school center with the motto “ We have time for our students! “Is sponsored by the Ernst Adam Munich School Association

history

During the war in 1944, the Catholic clergyman Ernst Adam (1884–1955) set up private lessons for around 150 children who were prevented from attending school for political or other reasons and who had not been evacuated. As a result, he founded the Ernst Adam private high school in 1946 , which was approved by the state that year. The school association was established in 1948 and is still responsible for the school today. It has been an all-day school since 1969, the Realschule was incorporated in 1978 (which is how the school center got its current name). Due to the increasing need for space, in September 2013, after a two-year construction period, the entire facility in the eastern area of the school premises was expanded to include a six-storey new building. The cost of the project was 16 million euros. Just two months after the inauguration of the new building, the part of the building had to be closed due to errors in the structural design. Only at the beginning of 2014 could the building be used again for schools after structural improvements.

School types

high school

The grades up to the tenth grade i. d. Usually divided into four classes (a to d) are taught in one of two tracks:

  • As a linguistic grammar school (SG) the foreign language sequence is English (from the fifth grade) - Latin (from the sixth or seventh grade) - French (from the sixth or seventh grade)
  • As a natural science-technological high school (NTG) the foreign language sequence is English (from the fifth grade) - Latin, or French (from the sixth). Choosing French as a second foreign language means choosing the NTG branch. Instead of the third foreign language, the students receive physics and chemistry as core subjects.

secondary school

The school offers a class (R) for the Realschule in each grade:

Elective subjects group II
The economic branch sets its accents in addition to the general subjects, especially in the field of economics. The main subjects are business accounting, economics and law, computer science and word processing.
Elective subject group III a
The focus here is on a second foreign language (French). The basics of business accounting are taught.
Elective subjects group III b
The focus is on the subject of works. The pupils learn how to handle wood, paper, metal, clay, plastic, etc. They implement their own designs according to the material.

particularities

The school offers a socio-educational department with over ten employees, as well as many extracurricular activities, such as its own fitness studio ( biceps and brains ), several play and leisure rooms , a bouldering room and a cafeteria . Students can use their own school buses as long as they live in the catchment area.

Since 2011, bilingual classes in history and / or biology and geography have been offered. The International Baccalaureate has also been achieved at the Nymphenburger Gymnasium via the IB Diploma Program since 2012 .

The school center took part in the MODUS21 project as a pilot school and was awarded the Inner School Development Innovation Prize (isi) in 2011/2012 . It is the reference school of the Technical University of Munich and participates in the lifelong learning program of the European Union.

The school offers a well-developed system of student representatives ( students with responsibility - SMV ) who, among other things, help shape school life in a so-called future workshop.

The shooting for the classroom scenes in the film Gib Gas - I want fun took place in the Nymphenburg high school.
