Markus Maurer (politician)

Markus Maurer (born October 31, 1970 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). He has been a member of the Salzburg State Parliament since June 13, 2018 .

Life

After primary school in Salzburg-Lehen, Markus Maurer attended the private high school of the Sacred Heart Missionaries in Salzburg, where he graduated in 1989 . After completing his military service , he began studying law at the University of Salzburg in 1990, completing his master's degree in 1997. This was followed by the court year at the Hallein District Court and the Salzburg Regional Court . In 1999 he received his doctorate in law . From 2004 he attended the university course in Public Management at the University of Salzburg Business School (SMBS) of the University of Salzburg, which he completed in 2006 as a Master of Business Administration .

In 2000/01 he worked as a secretary in the office of Deputy Governor Gerhard Buchleitner , from 2001 to 2006 he was a clerk in the social department and from 2006 to 2008 in the personnel department of the State of Salzburg . Since 2008 he has been head of the payroll department in the human resources department of the State of Salzburg.

Markus Maurer has been a member of the SPÖ local committee in Anif since 2001 , where he was a member of the local council from 2004 to 2011. Since 2006 he has been a member of the district committee and district board and since 2016 a member of the district party presidium of the SPÖ Flachgau . Since 2017 he has also been a member of the SPÖ Salzburg state party executive. On 13 June 2018 he was in the inaugural parliament session of the 16th legislative term as a Member of the Salzburg Parliament sworn in .
