Markus Wienstroer

Markus Wienstroer (born June 24, 1959 in Düsseldorf ) is a German musician who is active in the field of rock and pop as well as jazz as a studio and live musician. He works mainly as a guitarist.

Wienstroer began playing the violin at the age of seven and was a young student at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf from the age of eleven .

In the field of pop, Wienstroer u. a. with Andrea Berg , Wolfgang Petry , Claudia Jung , Roland Kaiser and Heino . He was a founding member of Family 5 . Among others, he was a member of the jazz band Naima from 1981 to 1985 , the country band Nashville Music Company from 1985 to 1991 and the Cologne rock band LSE from 1995 to 2002 . From 1985 to 2001 he played in the Wuppertal fusion group Das Pferd ; Between 1997 and 2000 he was a member of Klaus König's orchestra ( Songs and Solos , 1998).

He has been working with Tom Astor's band since 1996, with Marius Müller-Westernhagen since 1999 , with Tommy Engel since 2004 and with Anna Maria Kaufmann and Wolf Maahn since 2007 . In 1998 he was involved in the recordings of two symphonic jazz albums by Lalo Schifrin , also as a violinist : Metamorphosis (1998) and Jazz Mass in Concert (1998), where he played alongside musicians such as Ray Brown , Francisco Aguabeila , Paquito D'Rivera , Jon Faddis , Jeff Hamilton , James Morrison , Grady Tate and Christopher Dell can be heard as soloists.

In total Wienstroer can be heard on more than forty albums; He also works as a music producer, composes film music and gives master classes and workshops for guitar.
