Markus Wildhagen

Markus Wildhagen (born May 26, 1966 in Düsseldorf ) is a German art and antiques dealer .

Life

Wildhagen attended the Graf-Recke-Strasse secondary school in his hometown. He then completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at Wayss & Freytag . From 1988 to 1993 he worked as a commercial clerk at the Cologne paper wholesaler Schneidersöhne .

Since 1993 he has been running an antiques and art trade with prop rental in Düsseldorf- Unterbilk and is the largest provider in Europe. The 1300 m² collection with around 30,000 individual pieces focuses on Art Nouveau , Art Deco , Bauhaus and the 1950s and 1970s. His props have been part of the sets of hundreds of film and television productions such as Perfume - The Story of a Murderer , Hotel Lux , Marlene , The Adlon. A family saga , The Miracle of Bern and The Downfall and Grand Budapest Hotel . Sometimes Wildhagen's shop is used for photo shoots for fashion shoots, advertising campaigns and book illustrations, or, as in 2012, for photos for a record cover for the British band Wishbone Ash . In addition, Wildhagen advises and executes the design of interior fittings for shops, trade fair stands, cafes and restaurants, and is co-operator of an event management agency .

Wildhagen achieved nationwide fame through his appearances as an art and antiques dealer in the ZDF television series Bares for Rares , of which he has been a member of the dealer team since the seventh season of 2017.

Awards

Wildhagen won the “Top Locations 2016 Unterbilk” competition in the “Art & Culture” category, organized by Stadtwerke Düsseldorf .
