Marlon Teixeira (born September 16, 1991 in Balneário Camboriú , Santa Catarina ) is a Brazilian model .

Life

Teixeira was born in Brazil. He is of Portuguese , Brazilian, Indian and Japanese origins. In fashion blogs, fashion magazines and various forum posts the entry can often be found: "He is half Portuguese, as well as a quarter of Indian and Japanese."

Teixeira started modeling professionally at the age of 16. By his own account, he was 17 when he started working as a model. According to his own statements, he was discovered by Anderson Baumgartner, the owner of the model agency Way Model Management , one of the most important modeling agencies in Brazil. The first entries in model agencies date from 2008. This was followed by model recordings, among others in the magazines L'Officiel Hommes , Hercules , GQ , Vanity Fair and in W Magazine . He worked with photographers like Terry Richardson and Mert & Marcus (Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot) , among others . In the autumn / winter season 2008 he modeled for the Spanish fashion company Custo Barcelona and for Armani Jeans.

In spring 2009 he was selected as a model for Dior Homme by the Belgian fashion designer Kris Van Assche . 2009 was also Marlon Teixeira's international breakthrough when he was subsequently photographed by Karl Lagerfeld for the Dior Homme spring / summer 2009 campaign.

He has modeled in numerous campaigns, including for Dior , Diesel , Armani , Dolce & Gabbana , Louis Vuitton , American Eagle and Iceberg .

As a model, he ran regularly at Milan Fashion Week , in autumn 2010 for Iceberg and Giorgio Armani and in spring 2011 for Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani . In autumn 2011 it will run there again for Emporio Armani , Giorgio Armani and Iceberg as well as for Salvatore Ferragamo . At Paris Fashion Week he ran for Louis Vitton and Jean-Paul Gaultier (both spring 2011); in autumn 2011 he was modeling there for the French fashion company Hermès . In 2011 he was the cover model of the British Fiasco magazine .

The website Models.com , a professional online platform and networking community shared by models, photographers, agents and companies in the fashion industry, lists Teixeira among the 50 top male models on the international fashion scene. Teixeira is currently (as of May 2013) in 19th place in the ranking.

Teixeira's trademark is his "bronze-colored, athletic body". In an interview, Teixeira said that in private he prefers jeans , T-shirts and leather jackets , while on the beach he simply prefers shorts and flip-flops .

Teixeira currently lives (as of September 2011) in New York City .
