Marstal Sogn is a Danish parish ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Ærø . Until 1970 she belonged to Harde Ærø Herred in what was then Svendborg Office , after which it formed the Marstal Municipality in what was then Fyns Office . In the run-up to the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 , the parish and thus the municipality with the five Sogne of the Ærøskøbing municipality was already merged in 2006 to form Ærø municipality , which has been part of the Syddanmark region since 2007 . The churches "Marstal Kirke" and "Ommel Kirke" are located in the municipality

The neighboring parish in the west is the parish of Rise .

On January 1, 2020, the community had 2747 inhabitants, of which 2111 lived in Marstal and 284 in Ommel .
