Martin Amerhauser (born July 23, 1974 in Salzburg ) is a former Austrian soccer player and current coach. He played in midfield on the left flank and was known for his precise flanks.
Career
Amerhauser began his football career with Austria Salzburg . His name is inextricably linked to Salzburg's memorable European Cup appearance in the 1993/94 season. As a junior player, he just came on as a substitute and scored the decisive goal for the promotion against Sporting Lisbon in December 1993. After that he was also in the following games up to the final against Inter Milan and part of the first championship team. After an unsatisfactory autumn season, he moved to the 1995 spring season as a loan player to the GAK in the 2nd division and immediately became champion and promoted to the Bundesliga with the Graz red jackets . In the summer of 1996 he returned to Austria and won the championship again with his home club. From the 1999/2000 season until the summer of 2009, Amerhauser played again for the Graz athletes and was thus part of the most successful GAK era, in which one could celebrate a championship title, three cup wins and two Supercup victories and was also constantly in action in the European Cup competitions. Most recently he was away from the 2007/08 season - after the forced relegation of the GAK from the federal - in the Regionalliga Mitte in action. From summer 2009 he worked as an assistant coach until the end of the year, but returned to the field for FC Lankowitz in January 2010 and played there until 2011.
During the winter break he became head coach at the regional division SC Weiz . From 2012 to 2014 he was in charge of ASK Voitsberg in the Styrian regional league.
National team
Martin Amerhauser had twelve appearances in the Austrian national team , in which he was able to score three goals. He was also part of the ÖFB squad for the 1998 World Cup in France, but was not used there. In 2004 he was able to contribute the consolation goal to 1: 3 in the ÖFB anniversary game against Germany .
