Martin Bretschneider

Martin Bretschneider (born December 22, 1974 in Bielefeld ) is a German actor .

Life

Martin Bretschneider studied German , English and philosophy at Bielefeld University from 1995 to 1997 . He then completed an acting course at the Hanover University of Music and Drama until 2001 .

From 2001 to 2006 he was a member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Graz , afterwards he was engaged at the State Theater Mainz , Schauspiel Essen , Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna, Theater Bielefeld . From 2008 to 2010 he was part of the ensemble of the Schauspielhaus Bochum . Bretschneider has been working as a freelancer since 2010 and has appeared on various stages, including the Rottstrasse 5 Theater in Bochum. There he can be seen as Werther in the production of Hans Dreher since 2012. In November 2017, Bretschneider, who also speaks Greek , performed in Athens for the first time .

In addition to his work as a theater actor, Bretschneider also appears in film and television. In 2003 he played the role of national football player Hans Schäfer in The Miracle of Bern . In 2017 he stood in front of the camera in the cinema debut Phantomschmerz by director Andreas Olenberg; the film was released in German cinemas in September 2018. As a guest he was seen in the TV series Best Sisters , The Specialists , SOKO Leipzig , Commissioner Heller , The Public Prosecutor , and In All Friendship . He has been in the Bloody Beginners series since 2020 .

Martin Bretschneider has lived in Berlin since 2016.
