Martin Loosli

Martin Loosli (born October 28, 1956 in Aarberg ) is a Swiss painter and writer .

Life

Loosli was born in Aarberg and grew up in Worben . He attended the school for design in Bern . From 1986 he lived in Ibiza , since 1994 he has lived in Lenk in the Simmental .

Loosli began with text images in concrete painting .

“Loosli is interested in the interplay between the image and the viewer. The reduction to the color white is a sign that he is not interested in the color itself, but in the light, which makes the picture appear very differently, as well as the surprising effect of the changing tonalities "

In addition, conceptual art and later photography became important forms of expression in his work. In 2007 he received the Canton of Bern's travel grant for art and architecture, which took him to Melilla and Ceuta ; his situation report appeared in the exhibition publication of All Inclusive of the Kunsthalle Schirn .
