Martin Rehthaler (born September 20, 1985 in Eggenfelden ) is a German ice hockey player who has been playing Black Hawks for the upper division EHF Passau since 2009 .

Career

Rehthaler began his ice hockey career in the Canadian Junior League Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League with the Notre Dame Hounds. The defender played there for a year and then moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for the traditional club ETC Crimmitschau . In Crimmitschau he initially played predominantly in the junior Bundesliga, but was able to prevail in his second season and from then on belonged to the regular squad. After the ETC Crimmitschau celebrated its direct return to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2005/06 season , Rehthaler was also used in the second highest German division during the 2006/07 season . Overall, the left shooter completed 42 games in which he could not achieve a scorer point.

Thereupon the management of Füchse Duisburg became aware of the then 22-year-old and transferred him to Duisburg for the 2007/08 season . Rehthaler was given a sponsorship license and, in addition to his seven DEL games for the Füchse, also played 54 games for the TEV Miesbach in the major league . In the 2008/09 season , the defender was mainly used by the Füchsen with the cooperation partner Herner EV in the league . In summer 2009 he moved to the Passau Black Hawks.
