Martin Scharnagl
Martin Scharnagl (born January 4, 1988 in Lienz , East Tyrol ) is an Austrian musician and composer in the field of brass music .
Life
Martin Scharnagl received his first instrumental lessons on drums at the St. Johann in Tirol music school . After completing compulsory school , he moved to the Innsbruck Music High School , where he graduated from high school. He then studied music and education at the Tyrolean State Conservatory and at the Innsbruck branch of the Mozarteum with Norbert Rabanser and Gunnar Fras, which he graduated with distinction in 2012. In the meantime, he received various awards at the national level at the Prima la musica music competition and also studied wind orchestra conducting with Edgar Seipenbusch at the Mozarteum Innsbruck .
Scharnagl is or was a member of the Tyrolean Bläserphilharmonie, the Junge Philharmonie Tirol, the orchestra and choir of the Musikgymnasium Innsbruck, as well as the ensemble Windkraft, the Capella Vocalis, the orchestra of the Tyrolean State Conservatory, the University Orchestra Innsbruck, the percussion formation Sticks on Fire . In 2004 he was a founding member of Viera Blech and is still in charge today.
Martin Scharnagl teaches percussion at the Landesmusikschule Brixental and is a guest as a speaker, conductor or juror at numerous events and competitions. He has been Kapellmeister of the Kössen Band since 2014 .
Since the summer of 2013 he has been publishing his compositions with the Rundel music publisher , and these are performed in many European countries. His best-known work is the polka from friend to friend .
Scharnagl comes from Kössen in Tyrol and lives in Reith near Kitzbühel .
