Martin Spieler (born April 8, 1964 , resident in Zurich ) is a Swiss business journalist and television presenter .

Life

Player began his career as a journalist at the Tages-Anzeiger and the SonntagsZeitung . From 1999 to 2001 he was editor-in-chief of the TV stock market programs Money and MoneyTalk on Tele24 and was Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Belcom AG. From 2004 to 2010, he was editor-in-chief of the Handelszeitung and, from autumn 2007, also head of journalism and business magazines at Axel Springer Switzerland .

From summer 2010 to the end of November 2013, Spieler was editor-in-chief of the SonntagsZeitung , followed by Arthur Rutishauser . In 2014, he started his own business as an economic and financial expert. He continues to work as a journalist for the SonntagsZeitung and, as in previous years, is responsible for the financial advisor section . For Die Weltwoche he works as an economic writer. He is the presenter of the weekly programs “BörsenTrend” on TeleZüri and “Geld” on Tele M1 .

Player often appears in business broadcasts on radio and television as an expert on business and the stock market. He is a lecturer at the MAZ - The Swiss School of Journalism in Lucerne, at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur and at other universities of applied sciences. From 2010 to 2014 he was President of the “Conference of Editors-in-Chief” association. Christian Dorer followed him .

Player is a member of the board of directors of the 3 Plus Group and the “Club zum Rennweg”. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the “Foundation for the Einsiedeln and Fahr Monasteries ” and of the MAZ - The Swiss School of Journalism.
