Christian Dorer

Christian Dorer (born March 13, 1975 in Saint-Imier , Canton Bern ; legal resident in Sonceboz-Sombeval ) is a Swiss journalist . Since February 1, 2017 he has been editor-in-chief of the Blick Group.

Life

Dorer graduated from the Alte Kantonsschule Aarau with a type B Matura. He completed his undergraduate studies in economics at the University of Zurich . From 1999 to 2000 he attended the Ringier journalism school , combined with internships at Aargauer Zeitung , dimanche.ch, Radio Argovia , Cash-TV and Blick .

From 2001 Dorer wrote as a business editor for the newspaper Blick , in 2002 he moved to the Bundeshaus editorial office . From 2005 he wrote for the SonntagsBlick in this role . In 2007 Dorer was appointed journalist, head of politics and deputy editor-in-chief of SonntagsBlicks . From February 2009 to the end of 2016 he was editor-in-chief of the third largest paid newspaper in Switzerland, the Aargauer Zeitung / az Nordwestschweiz , and AZ Medien in Aarau. He has been editor-in-chief of the Blick Group since February 2017 .

In 2006 Dorer wrote a biography together with Patrik Müller about the then SBB boss Benedikt Weibel .

Dorer is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Swiss School of Journalism MAZ - The Swiss School of Journalism in Lucerne. He has been on the board of the Conference of Editors-in-Chief since March 2012 and its President since 2014. He succeeded Martin player . Since January 2018 he has been co-program manager of the SwissMediaForum . Since 2012 he has appeared on the TV programs TalkTaily and SonnTalk on the TV stations TeleZüri and Tele M1 .

In addition to his work as a journalist, he has been working once a month as a bus driver in the regular service of the Lenzburg regional bus since 1998 .

In the Swiss Army, Dorer held the rank of captain . From 2000 to 2003 he commanded a transport company, until 2017 he was active as a militia officer in an army staff.

Dorer lives in Baden AG .
