Martina Stede (* 1972 or 1973 ), married Göbel , is a former German biathlete . She is both the first German female champion and the first German female winner of a world cup race in her sport.
Martina Stede attended the Uplandschule Willingen , a school sports center for Nordic skiing, and was part of the German national biathlon squad towards the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s. At SC Willingen there was a training group set up by Renate Schinze in the young women's biathlon , which included Petra Schaaf and Inga Kesper as well as Stede . As a junior, she won the title at the Junior World Championships in 1989 in Voss with Dorina Pieper and Petra Schaaf, in the team competition she was second with both, and in 1990 she won bronze in the sprint in Sodankylä .
In 1989 , Stede started in Feistritz an der Drau at their first biathlon world championships and was fifth in the individual, 18th in the sprint and, with Pieper and Schaaf, just missed a medal in the relay race in fourth place. In 1990 , a 26th place in the individual was added in Minsk , in 1991 in Lahti , Stede just missed a medal in the team competition with the German representation around Uschi Disl , Kerstin Moring and Schaaf in fourth place. In 1989 Stede achieved two victories in the biathlon world cup , she won the singles in January in Ruhpolding and in March in Steinkjer . Nationally, Stede won the first title ever at German championships in 1987 with the individual, and in 1991 the title again with the representation of Hesse alongside Inga Kesper and Schaaf in the relay competition. Stede ended her biathlon career at the age of 21. She is an honorary member of SC Willingen. Martina Göbel has a son and a daughter, she works as a trainer for her home club. The trained accountant works for the municipality of Willingen.
