Maruleng ( English Maruleng Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the Mopani District , Limpopo Province in South Africa . The administrative headquarters are in Hoedspruit . Ms. Happy Dipuo Thobejane is the mayor.
The community name is derived from the Sepedi word for the marula tree that grows there. The amarula liqueur is made from its fruits .

In 2011 the community had 94,857 inhabitants. Of these, 95.5% were black and 3.8% were white.
The first language was Sepedi ( 86.9%) , Xitsonga ( 3.8%) , Afrikaans ( 2.7%) and English (1.6%).
