Mary Ann Ostergren-Hollensteiner (born November 25, 1960 in Saint Paul ) is a former American biathlete . She was on the US national team for over eight years.

Mary Ostergren graduated from Carleton College in 1984. She was very talented in sports and ran, for example, canoe marathons and cross-country skiing marathons. Since 1986 she has been a member of her country's national team. In Lahti she started in 1987 for the first time in biathlon world championships and finished 24th in the individual and 33rd in the sprint race. In 1990 she won the sprint title at the US championships. In 1991 she again took part in the World Championships in Lahti, where she was 19th of the sprint and 22nd of the individual and was seventh in the relay race with Anna Sonnerup and Joan Guetschow . In 1992 she was one of the athletes who first took part in women's biathlon races at the Olympic Games . In Albertville Ostergren finished 25th in the sprint and with Nancy Bell-Johnstone and Joan Miller Smith in 15th place in the relay race. This was followed by the 1993 World Championships in Borowetz , where she was 68th of the individual, 51st of the sprint and eleventh with Joan Miller Smith, Joan Guetschow and Ntala Skinner . The last major event was the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer . Ostergren was only used in the sprint and was 64. At the end of the 1993/94 season , she ended her career, in which she came in the points several times.
