Masamitsu Itō ( Japanese 伊藤 将 充 , Itō Masamitsu ; born February 27, 1998 in Sapporo ) is a Japanese ski jumper .

Career

Itō made his international debut at the FIS Cup on September 28 and 29, 2013 in Râşnov . At that time he started as a graduate of the Shimokawa Business School ( 下 川 商業 高等学校 ). With places 17 and 12, he also got his first points. In 2014 he took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme . But he could not reach the second round either individually or with the team.

In the 2014/15 season he started in the Continental Cup for the first time . He made his debut on January 16, 2015 in Sapporo , where he ended up in seventh place. A week later he achieved another top ten placement in Planica with a ninth place. In February 2015 he again took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Almaty . With this participation he managed to get into the second round in both the individual and team competition, but without achieving a top placement.

In summer 2015 he started in the Grand Prix for the first time . On August 29, he made his debut in Hakuba , where he ended up in 36th place and thus missed the points. The following winter he started at the Continental Cup in Sapporo. In a total of three competitions, his best placement was a sixth place. Only a few days later he was at the World Cup , also in Sapporo, in both competitions in the national group. On the first day he failed to qualify, but he was able to qualify for the second competition. He started the World Cup for the first time on January 31, 2016 . He finished in 45th place. His next international appearances were at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer . In the individual competition, he just missed the medal ranks with fourth place, in the mixed team competition (ski jumping / Nordic combined) he landed in eighth place and in the Nordic mixed team competition (ski jumping / Nordic combined / cross-country skiing) in seventh place. Then he took part for the third time in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Râşnov . In addition to a sixth place in the mixed team competition, he won the bronze medal in the team competition behind the teams from Germany and Norway together with Yūken Iwasa , Naoki Nakamura and Ryōyū Kobayashi .

At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Park City in February 2017 , he finished fifth in the individual, fourth in the team competition and in the mixed team competition he won the bronze medal behind the teams from Slovenia and Germany with Minami Watanabe , Fumika Segawa and Yūken Iwasa . In the same month he was able to win the team competition at the Winter Asian Games in Sapporo with his compatriots Naoki Nakamura, Yukiya Satō and Yūken Iwasa.
