Mason Daring

Kevin Mason Daring (born September 21, 1949 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American composer .

biography

Mason Daring learned the trumpet and guitar in his childhood. He completed his music studies at Amherst College in 1971 and played in several music groups from then on. At the same time, he began to study law and graduated from Suffolk University in 1976 and worked as a licensed media law attorney in Massachusetts from 1977 . At the same time, he shot and cut several advertising films. As a lawyer, he later met the filmmaker John Sayles , whom he worked as legal advisor for the shooting of his drama The Return to Secaucus . Since Sayles was also looking for a musician, he hired him and Daring made his debut as a film composer. Since then, Daring has been responsible for the music for films such as The Opposite of Sex , Without Words and Silver City , and was nominated for an Emmy in 2001 for his music for Bailey's Mistake .
