A Day With My Brother (Original Title: Tru Confessions) is an American - Canadian television film produced by Walt Disney Pictures based on a book by Janet Tashjian . It was broadcast on Disney Channel on April 5, 2002 (see List of Disney Channel Original Movies ). The broadcast premiere in Germany was on May 11, 2003 on ProSieben .

Trudy Walker, known to her friends and family as "Tru", is an early teenage girl who would like to become a radio journalist. Trudy has a twin brother, Eddie, who is challenged in his development due to lack of oxygen during pregnancy. Tru has long been torn between her love for her brother, her difficulty understanding how to help him, and her guilt for the fact that he was born challenged and she wasn't. Tru's conflicting feelings are not alleviated by the fact that her mother often appears emotionally distant and her father burrows in work to avoid his son's problem. When a local cable access channel sponsors a student filmmaking contest and the winner receives their own weekly television show, Tru decides to make a documentary to enter the contest. Tru tries to settle on a topic and makes a film about Eddie. In the process, she takes a long, close look at her brother's problems and achievements, which gives her a whole new perspective on his life.
