Matejka Mohorič (born July 17, 1978 in Kranj ) is a former Slovenian biathlete .

Matejka Mohorič studied geology and sociology . She lives in Kranj and comes from a family of cross-country skiers . In 1994 the athlete from TSK Merkur Kranj switched to biathlon, where she preferred the shooting-heavy singles because she was a better shooter than cross-country skiers. Since 1995 she has been a member of the Slovenian national team. She contested her first races in 1996 in Osrblie and was 51st of an individual. The first international championship was the 1997 Biathlon World Championships in Osrblie, where she was 54th in the sprint, with Andreja Koblar , Lucija Larisi and Tadeja Brankovič as the starting runner, 19th in the relay race and in the same line-up came 18th in the team race. Shortly thereafter , she was fifth in a race in Nagano in the same squadron line-up and thus achieved her best result in the World Cup. The following season , a 28th place in a pursuit race in Kontiolahti was her best result in the World Cup. The high point of her career was the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, where she was ninth in the relay race with Larisi, Andreja Grašič and Brankovič. After the games, she took part in the Biathlon Junior World Championships in Jericho in 1998 and was 38th of the individual and 28th of the sprint. The last major event was the 1999 biathlon world championships in Kontiolahti. The Slovenian started in the sprint and relay and finished 59th in the sprint and as the final runner with Koblar, Larisi and Brankovič 13 in the relay competition. At the end of the career, three races in Jablonec nad Nisou in the European Cup . In the sprint she missed victory behind Hana Rychterová , in pursuit and in the mass start she just missed further podium positions in fourth place.
