Matheus Leite Nascimento (born January 15, 1983 in Ribeirópolis , Sergipe State , Brazil ), better known as Matheus , is a Brazilian football player . His position is winger . At his club Sporting Clube de Braga he wore the number 23, at FK Dnipro it was the 99.
Career
Matheus had his first professional contract with the Associação Olímpica de Itabaiana from the state of Sergipe. In the summer of 2005 he was signed for the 2005/06 season in the Liga de Honra by the Portuguese FC Marco . After the first half of the series he moved to the Sporting Clube de Braga in the highest Portuguese league, the Liga Sagres , with a contract for three and a half years. After he had only come to four missions there, he was loaned first to SC Beira-Mar and then to Vitória Setúbal . In the 2007/08 season he was brought back from Braga. In the 2009/10 season he took part in all league games, if not always for the full time.
In January 2011, he signed a three-year contract with the Ukrainian first division club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk (now renamed FK Dnipro ). The transfer fee was one million euros. In 2015 he reached the final of the Europa League with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk , which Dnipro lost 3-2 to defending champions Sevilla FC . In this game, Matheus collapsed shortly before the end.
