Mathias Bothor (born August 27, 1962 in Berlin ) is a German photographer .

Life

Mathias Bothor studied photography at the Lette-Verein and started his own business in 1992. Since then he has been working as a freelance photographer. He is married and lives in Berlin with his wife and two children.

Mathias Bothor became known through his portrait photography. In front of his camera were for example: Robert de Niro , Angela Merkel , Emma Watson , Hilary Swank , Jodie Foster , Marie Bäumer , Katja Riemann , Hannelore Elster Iris Berben , Helena Bonham Carter , Mikael Nyqvist , Doris Dörrie , Kenzaburō Ōe , Sebastian Koch , Christiane Paul , Roger Willemsen , Louis Hofmann Nadja Uhl , Almila Bagriacik , Karoline Herfurth , Leonard Cohen . Another line of work by Bothor is film posters such as greetings from Fukushima , cherry blossoms , Just a woman or the silent classroom , which won the Golden Trailer Award for Best Foreign Poster in 2018 . The third supplement is his work Landscapes, which he recorded in two books published by Mare Verlag .
