Mathilde Gremaud (born February 8, 2000 in Freiburg ) is a Swiss freestyle skier . She starts in the disciplines of slopestyle and big air .

Career

Gremaud took part in competitions of the AFP World Tour from 2014 . In April 2015 she finished second in the Slopestyle at the Swiss Championships in Corvatsch . In the 2015/16 season she won the Swiss Freeski Open in Crans-Montana and took second place in Glacier 3000 , both in slopestyle. At the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer , she was sixth in slopestyle. On March 4, 2016, she made her debut in the World Cup in Silvaplana and finished 19th in slopestyle. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, she achieved her first World Cup podium finish in Milan with second place in Big Air. In the further course of the season she won the World Cup in Québec in Big Air and came second in Slopestyle at the World Cup in Mammoth .

In March 2017 Gremaud came third in the Slopestyle World Cup in Silvaplana and won the gold medal in Big Air at the X-Games Norway 2017 in Hafjell . At the subsequent World Championships in 2017 in Sierra Nevada , she was fifth in Slopestyle. She finished the season in sixth place in the Slopestyle World Cup and in third place in the Big Air World Cup. Shortly afterwards, she tore a cruciate ligament in her right knee during a photo session in the Czech Republic , which meant that she missed most of the 2017/18 season. In time for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , Gremaud was fit again and after an eleven month break from competition won the silver medal in the slopestyle competition, behind her teammate Sarah Höfflin . At the beginning of November 2018 she won her second World Cup victory in Big Air in Modena .
