Matilda De Angelis (2018)

Matilda De Angelis (born September 11, 1995 in Bologna ) is an Italian actress and singer .

Life

Matilda De Angelis attended the Liceo Scientifico Enrico Fermi. She learned to play guitar, violin and piano at the age of eleven and wrote music and lyrics for her own songs at the age of 13. At sixteen she became a member of the band Rumba de Bodas , with which she toured and of which she was a member for five years.

In the RAI television series Tutto può succedere she was seen as Ambergris from 2015 to 2018. Matteo Rovere cast her for the lead role of Giulia De Martino in Fast as the Wind (2016) alongside Stefano Accorsi as her film brother Loris. For the role she took acting lessons from Doris Hicks . For her portrayal of Giulia she was awarded a Nastro d'Argento as best young actress and was nominated for the David di Donatello film prize as best leading actress and for the best original song.

In the animated film Coco - More Alive Than Life! (2017) she lent the voice of Tía Victoria in the Italian version. In 2018 she played the role of Matilde in Berardo Carboni's film drama Youtopia and the role of Soledad Agramante in Una vita spericolata by Marco Ponti and was honored as a European Shooting Star at the Berlinale . In autumn 2019, she stood in front of the camera for the Netflix film L'incredibile storia dell'isola delle rose with Elio Germano and Tom Wlaschiha as Gabriella.

In Jan Schomburg's film The Divine Other (2020) , she embodied the role of Maria, who wants to become a nun and is about to go to the monastery and with whom Gregory, played by Callum Turner , falls in love. She starred as Elena Alves in the HBO miniseries The Undoing (2020), opposite Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman . In the biopic series Leonardo she took on the role of Caterina da Cremona, alongside Aidan Turner as Leonardo da Vinci .
