Career

Kladnik made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup on December 30, 1992 . In the opening event of the Four Hills Tournament 1992/93 he jumped to 8th place in Oberstdorf and was able to win World Cup points in his first World Cup competition. After a rather mediocre performance in the other competitions of the tour, he finished it on 35th place in the tour's overall ranking. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 1993 , Kladnik reached 51st place on the normal hill and 49th place on the large hill. On December 17, 1993 he was able to achieve the best individual result of his career in Courchevel with the 7th place. Despite the lack of success in the subsequent jumping, he was part of the squad for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer . After jumping from the normal hill he was tied with the Italian Roberto Cecon and the Czech Jiří Parma in 19th place. In jumping from the large hill, Kladnik reached 27th place. In the team competition, he finished ninth together with Robert Meglič , Samo Gostiša and Matjaž Zupan . In the following three years he could hardly achieve any success in the World Cup. He rarely managed to win World Cup points. Even in the ski jumping Continental Cup , in which he had meanwhile entered parallel, he remained without major successes. After the 1996/97 season, Kladnik retired from the World Cup, before ending his active ski jumping career a year later in 1998.
