Mats Haglund (born May 9, 1976 ) is a Swedish former football player . The striker played for Åtvidabergs FF and BK Häcken in Swedish professional football and played two games in the Allsvenskan .

Career

Haglund comes from the youth of Malmköpings IF . In 1995 he joined the former first division club IK City in the third division, where he played until 1998. He then joined the second division Åtvidabergs FF , with whom he qualified as seventh in the table for the newly created Superettan . With the team he rose in the league's debut season as third from bottom of the final classification in the third division, but this managed direct promotion. In the 2003 season he established himself as a regular player and placed fourth on the top scorer list with 15 goals this season behind Göran Marklund , Mats Lilienberg and Dioh Williams . As fourth in the table, the club narrowly missed promotion to the Allsvenskan , but after his contract expired within the league, he moved to Gothenburg club BK Häcken .

At his new club, Haglund was in the starting line-up in all 30 games of the season in the 2004 season, with nine goals this season he contributed to the second division championship of the team around Tuomas Uusimäki , Christoffer Källqvist , Dulee Johnson and Johan Lind . The following year he lost his regular place on the offensive after a knee injury and only played twice as a substitute in the top Swedish division. After the end of the season he returned to the second division Åtvidabergs FF, where he signed a two-year contract. Here he was a regular again straight away and surprisingly reached the main round of the 2006/07 UEFA Cup with the previous year 's cup finalists after successes over Etzella Ettelbrück from Luxembourg and the Norwegian representative Brann Bergen - he contributed two goals to advance here - where he played against Grasshopper Club Zurich was clearly eliminated with two defeats. However, Haglund could no longer build on the scoring threat during his first stay with eight or six goals this season. Nevertheless, the club extended with him and his teammate Örjan Bäckstrand in September 2007 the expiring contracts for another year.

After his contract expired, Haglund was hired at the beginning of 2009 at the fourth division club FK Linköping , which was newly formed from Linköpings FF , before moving on to the sixth division BK Derby at the end of 2010 .
