Dulee Johnson (born November 7, 1984 in Monrovia ) is a Liberian football player . The midfielder has played most of his career in Sweden so far .

Career

Johnson first came to Sweden during the Gothia Cup in 1998. First he then returned to his home country, but moved in 2000 to the Swedish club Floda BoIF . At the side of his compatriot Jimmy Dixon , he played for the lower class club and scored 16 goals this season.

Johnson then moved to the Allsvenskan for BK Häcken . With the club he rose at the end of the first division season 2001 in the Superettan . At the side of Johan Lind , Dioh Williams , Tuomas Uusimäki and Jimmy Dixon, who has meanwhile also moved to BK Häcken, he missed the relegation place to Allsvenskan only because of the poorer goal difference compared to local rivals Västra Frölunda IF . In the same year he took part in the 2002 African Cup of Nations in Mali with the country selection led by George Weah . He missed promotion to the first division with the club in the relegation round against GIF Sundsvall the following year , but managed to return to the top division in the 2004 season under coach Jörgen Lennartsson as first in the table.

After playing for BK Häcken in the Swedish elite series, Johnson moved to AIK in early 2006 and signed a three-year contract. As a regular player in the club's attacking midfield, he reached the runner-up behind IF Elfsborg with his new club in the 2006 season . He was also a regular in the following years before he announced his departure from the club in the summer of 2008 in order to be able to develop further, and moved to Israel to Maccabi Tel Aviv . Although he won the Israel League Cup with the club , he only stayed in Israel for one season.

In June 2009, Johnson announced his return to AIK, where he signed a two and a half year contract. With two goals in 15 games until the end of the 2009 season , he contributed to winning the Lennart Johansson Cup for the Swedish national champions alongside Daniel Tjernström , Antônio Flávio , Nils-Eric Johansson and Kenny Pavey . Under coach Mikael Stahre he was also in the final of the Swedish National Cup , which was won against IFK Göteborg .

In the course of 2010 there were rumors of churn around Johnson again and again because coach Alex Miller used him irregularly. If he had denied these reports in July of that year and made it clear that he would stay with AIK, shortly before the end of the summer transfer period in August he was quoted as saying that he would like to be loaned or sold by the club. However, he remained loyal to the club and fought for a regular place in mid-September. In October, prosecutors accused him of rape - in May of that year he had raped a 22-year-old woman - after which the club suspended him after the arrest, not least because of pressure from main sponsor Åbro . After lengthy negotiations with the player's representatives, the club split from Johnson in early December.

In January 2011 Johnson signed a contract with the Greek second division club Panetolikos with a contract term until summer 2012. In summer 2011, however, he changed again and joined the Dutch honorary division De Graafschap . The contract was terminated by the club on October 4, 2011. He had already attracted attention several times in the short time due to misconduct, most recently because he refused a breath test after a car accident. In July 2012, Johnson signed a two-year deal with the South African AmaZulu FC from Durban. But even here he was released early after less than five months and only six missions in November 2012; the club gave a "breach of contract on the part of the player" as the reason, without commenting on details.
