Matt Clark

Matt Clark (born November 25, 1936 in Washington, DC ) is an American actor .

Life

Clark grew up in Alexandria, Virginia after the family moved. After two years in the army, he attended George Washington University , where he studied acting, but remained without a degree. Clark earned his money with numerous odd jobs until he joined amateur theaters and eventually belonged to the New York group The Living Theater . He starred in off-Broadway plays and other non-commercial productions during the 1950s. He also produced for the stage.

His film debut in 1964, Black like me, was followed by more than 110 roles in television and in the cinema as a supporting actor; the tall, slim actor often portrayed cowardly, devious types.

Clark was married to Erica Lann , an actress and writer, from 1958 to 1966 . The couple had four children.
