Matthias Henn (born April 28, 1985 in Birkenfeld ) is a German football player .
Career
Henn began his career in 1991 at JSG Unnertal Berschweiler. In 1997 he moved to SG Blaubach-Diedelkopf, Miroslav Klose's home club . From 2002 he wore the jersey for the A-youth of 1. FC Kaiserslautern . He made his Bundesliga debut as a central defender on April 23, 2005 in a match against Borussia Dortmund . After he had played in the second team of 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the regional league , Henn received a professional contract for the 2006/07 second division season .
For the 2007/08 season , Henn moved to second division relegated Eintracht Braunschweig in the Regionalliga, where he signed a contract for two years. In his first season he was in 21 league games on the field and scored two goals. In 2009 a bowel operation put him out of action. In 2011, Eintracht extended its contract. A cruciate ligament tear in November 2011 put him out of action for months. The continuation of his career seemed uncertain for a long time. In the 2012/13 season he celebrated the biggest triumph of his career with Braunschweig and was promoted to the first Bundesliga. With the contract extension by one year, Henn remained with the Braunschweig company.
For the 2015/16 season Henn moved to Hansa Rostock in the 3rd division . He signed a two-year contract. After two years and 71 competitive appearances, the cooperation in Rostock ended at the end of the 2016/17 season. Henn moved to the regional league relegated Teutonia Watzenborn-Steinberg in the Hessenliga and signed a two-year contract there. After the club was renamed FC Gießen , he was promoted to the regional league with the club in 2018/19 . But his contract was not extended and Henn has been without a new club since then.
