Matthias Wallbaum , also Mathäus Wallbaum or Walbaum (* around 1554 in Kiel , † January 10, 1632 in Augsburg ) was a German goldsmith .
Wallbaum received his first training in Lübeck since 1569 . From 1579 his work in Augsburg is documented. In 1590 he became a master goldsmith. Since 1610 he was one of those artisans who worked on the production of the Pomeranian art cupboard, for which he designed a group of muses on Mount Parnassus . In addition, he created a Diana on a deer in the form of drinking games in some variations . He also made house altars as well as writing and toilet boxes in ebony and silver .
