Matti Erkki Olavi Murto (born April 9, 1949 in Helsinki ; † August 19, 2013 ibid) was a Finnish ice hockey player who spent most of his active career between 1964 and 1983 at Helsingfors IFK and won the Finnish championship five times .
Career
Matti Murto played for Helsingfors IFK from 1964 to 1983 - except during the 1974/75 season, when he played for VEU Feldkirch in Austria. The HIFK club has blocked number 17, which he played with at HIFK. In 1991 he was inducted into the Finnish Hall of Fame.
International
With the Finnish national team he took part in the Winter Olympics in 1972 and 1976 and in the World Championships in 1970 , 1971 , 1972 , 1974 , 1975 and 1976 .
